Youth Medicinal Garden Project

We are starting a Youth Medicinal Garden Project and want to invite you to join us! It's a great way to keep in touch with each other and to spend some time on the land.

The Youth Medicinal Garden project is an experiential learning opportunity to engage youth aged 16-29. Guided by knowledge holders across the generations, come share & hold space for storytelling, gardening experience and hands-on activities. Nurture deeper connections with community as we grow towards resurgence and revitalization of Indigenous land-based learning and cultural practices through a community garden that is open to everyone!

Our first session is Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm

We will be shaping the garden, planting and starting some arts-based projects on Saturday (keeping water restrictions in mind). Along with supporting taking care of the garden throughout the summer, we're also hosting various land-based workshops led by intergenerational knowledge holders and youth. Workshops include:

  • Willow Basket Making (June 29th)
  • Youth led plant walk
  • Youth led foraging
  • Community feast at the end of the season
