We are excited to welcome Reigen Kehler as the IRT7 program assistant to IRT7 and Bridges team!
"Reigen (she/her) - Ahski Iskwew (Earth Woman) is a Cree/Saulteaux woman from the Kawacatoose First Nation in Treaty Four territory. Reigen is currently a program assistant for the Indigenous Rising Treaty 7 initiative. Reigen is in her fourth year at the University of Calgary to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society. She has experience working and volunteering with youth and her peers in Mohkinstsis for the past seven years. She enjoys being on the land and is also an avid sports fan who loves volleyball, softball, and golf.
Reigen is most importantly a mother to a two year old daughter which further exemplifies the matriarchal and ancestral power that inspires her drive for youth work. Reigen knows that by actively decolonizing and healing inter-generational cycles, her daughter will be more in tune with her spirituality and power which grounds Reigen’s passion for uplifting and empowering the next generation."
