Announcing the 10th annual A Youth Explosion 2021 DRIVE-IN: get your Tickets quick!
A Youth Explosion (AYE) is an annual event that provides opportunities for young Indigenous people to stand up and express themselves. It’s a space for youth to share their wisdom with a diverse audience through the many ways stories are told. The AYE Leadership Team and staff are excited to announce that this year’s event is June 19th, 2021 both livestreamed and at the Grey Eagle Resort Drive in. At AYE 2021, YOU will experience storytellers coming together for an explosion of creative expression, showcasing amazing acts of resiliency, authenticity, courage and passion.
AYE is open to everyone and designed to connect with and engage a wide and diverse audience. We especially welcome those who are concerned about ongoing structural injustice and who seek to hear the perspectives of youth with lived experience. Our hope is that community members, including those who are trying to lead and support progress in a wide range of disciplines, will see the value of the youth-led approach and engage with Indigenous perspectives through Indigenous creativity, arts and storytelling.
A past participant shared “Since I got the opportunity to perform at A Youth Explosion, it has really helped me out of my shell. I’ve always been this shy little girl, and always just imagined singing on stage but never in real life and when I got the opportunity to do it, and I did it, it definitely changed my life. I was able to actually go and talk to a group of students and have confidence, I can actually say I have my dream job which is a youth program coordinator for art, I just want to be that mentor for the youth, help them out of their comfort zone and help them achieve their full potential of whatever it is they want to do in life.” You won’t want to miss this inspiring event, follow our Instagram @canadabridgesaye to find out more. Save the date in your calendar – June 19th. Hope to see you there!
We will be following strict COVID-19 protocols at the event. All audience members must remain in their vehicles. All presentations will be pre-recorded and shared on the big screen.
