By Invitation Only

Why is the invitation so critical for Bridges? Because projects that are pushed don’t work, or they don’t work for very long. Bridges adopts a pull approach with each new initiative undertaken, never a push. Bridges works with local partners in communities where it operates to clearly understand and define local priorities, and how third-party training could support those needs. Bridges is entirely driven by locally identified needs.

Bridges itself emerged from an invitation – an invitation from the government of Yemen – and has since responded to hundreds of invitations from around the world. Whether the invitation is to speak on sustainable human development to a grade five class in Calgary, Alberta or to train a class of fifty doctors, nurses and midwives in a village in Oman, Bridges never acts without an invitation.
